IMPORTANT EMAIL UPDATE – Action Required to Save Your Messages
Hey everyone, a quick update from the WebhostingNZ desk as we continue the recovery of our servers.
The Status:
Our main priority has been getting your websites back online. Servers like Annie are currently grinding through millions of files (inodes) to get everything restored. We are over the 90% mark, but because of the sheer volume of data, it’s taking some time.
The Email Situation (Action Needed!):
We have not yet restored the email folder structures on the new servers. This is intentional to give you a window to protect your existing data.
CRITICAL STEP:
If you have emails currently sitting on your phone, tablet, or computer, please manually copy or move them to a "Local Folder" (sometimes called "On My Mac" or "Personal Folders") that is NOT inside your IMAP account folders.
Why?
When we restore the email structure, the folders will initially be empty. If your mail app syncs with the server before you’ve backed them up locally, it may see the empty server folders and "sync" by deleting the messages currently on your device.
The Plan:
Move your mail now to a safe, local folder on your device.
Once the website restores are 100% finished, we will begin restoring the email account structures.
We will post another update once that process is complete.
Thank you for your patience while we navigate this migration. We’re pushing hard to get everyone back to 100% as quickly as possible!
